My favorite YouTube golf coaches

My instagram feed might as well be called “golfstagram.” The algorithm definitely has me figured out.

I am served endless reels of:

  • swing tips

  • coaching videos

  • "Play this Par 4 with me” clips

It’s a little overwhelming to be honest. I follow a lot of golf instructors and golf influencers, but over the past couple years these THREE have remained my favorite and my clear go-to’s for video instruction. So I thought I would let you guys in on these 3 golf coaches that I LOVE, why I love them, and share the direct links to the most useful (in my opinion) YouTube videos of theirs. I also noted their instagram handles so that you can find them there as well.

For warming up, grip, stance and posture basics: Lisa Longball

Instagram: @lisalongball

First of all, Lisa is super entertaining. She has a big personality, and she draws you in with her passionate energy and engaging voice. Her normal level of energy is HIGH ENERGY. She speaks quickly and with conviction! She explains things so simply - you have to watch her “turn the skirt, turn the shirt” explanation for rotation through the golf swing.

Lisa is an 8-time Canadian Long Drive National Champion and was the first woman to ever hit the length of 3.5 NFL football fields in competition.

Lisa runs in person golf schools in the US and Canada. I have never been to one but they look like awesome immersion programs, if you are looking for something like that.

Here’s a great foundational video which walks through warmups, grip, stance and posture.

For drills and training aids to activate all the right muscle groups: Christina Ricci

Instagram: @getmorepars

Think Good Will Hunting meets golf instruction. It won’t take you long to catch Christina’s Boston accent and no-fuss attitude coming through in her instructional videos. She gets right down to business. Her style is detailed & technical, and somehow without being too above the heads of novice golfers. If you love to understand how the muscle groups work in the swing, Christina is going to break down all of those body mechanics for you. I’m also deeming her the golf training aid queen. She’s using everything to the walls, to medicine balls, to foam rollers, to more specific branded golf trainers in her instruction. If you like someone who thinks outside the box, she’s your coach. Check out her website for golf camps, training aids, and instructional videos at More Pars. How ‘bout dem apples?

Here’s a great video for how to get your BUTT involved in your swing. I love this one!

Simple actionable tips for your driver and irons: Georgia Ball

Instagram: @georgiagolfcoach

Georgia is bubbly and bright. She has a lovely UK accent. You might have seen one of her reels go viral when a rando at the driving range tried to mansplain swing tips to her, a professional. She handled it beautifully. I would not be so patient. But hey, I guess Georgia understands that golfers are just so passionate about great swing tips that they feel so extremely compelled to share what they learn with others.

Georgia makes use of training aids too - especially alignment sticks in her videos. She is churning out content at a rapid pace. It seems she offers some type of virtual coaching as well as her library of swing videos, so that’s something to look into!

She focuses a lot on maintaining stability in the golf swing. This was something I really struggled with at first - how to keep myself from swaying side to side as I swung the club.

Here are two videos to check out to improve your driver & your irons:

I hope you enjoy these YouTube instructional videos. Do you have a preference among these three? Drop me a comment or send a DM to tell me who your favorite YouTube instructors are.
