Hosting your Master’s watch party
The Masters is a golf tournament steeped in tradition. Every year, the bold color of the pink azaleas against the emerald green golf course backdrop is absolutely stunning, and the competition is also pretty fierce.
The tradition began back in 1934. Each year the tournament is played at Augusta National Golf Club. It is considered one of the most prestigious golf tournaments and the winner receives a green jacket.
It is one of four major championships in the men’s professional golf - the other three being the US Open, the British Open and the PGA Championship.
The 2025 Masters is happening April 10-13. You can get a preview of the gorgeous Augusta National Golf Course if you are planning to watch the Augusta National Women’s Amateur golf tournament, which is April 2-5.
Personally, one of my favorite days to watch is Wednesday which is the Par 3 tournament. The players & their families play the 9 hole Augusta Par 3 course. The families dress in the iconic white caddy coverall uniform with their names on the back. It is so precious to see the kids getting into it with their normally all-business professional golf player parents.
While tickets and travel packages for the Masters can cost thousands of dollars, here are some fun & easy ideas you can incorporate into your at-home Master’s watch party.

Colors
The Masters traditional colors are Green, Yellow and Pink Azalea.
Go green: Use emerald green tablecloths, napkins, and decorations to mimic Augusta National's famous fairways & that iconic green jacket
Add pops of yellow: Incorporate yellow flowers as centerpieces
Don't Forget the Hot Pink: The full pink azaleas are always gorgeous to look at. Consider adding pink plates or streamers to complement your Masters theme.
Menu
Make the famous pimento cheese sandwiches for your guests. If that doesn’t sound very appetizing to you, consider egg salad sandwiches. For dessert you can serve “green jacket” cupcakes.
To drink, Georgia Peach cocktails and Arnold Palmers (half lemonade and half iced tea.)

Here are a few fascinating Masters facts you might not know:
The Green Jacket Tradition - Winners can only take their green jacket home for one year. After that, it must be stored at Augusta National and can only be worn on the grounds.
The Champions Dinner - Each year, the previous champion hosts and selects the menu for an exclusive dinner for all past Masters champions, creating some memorable (and occasionally controversial) meal choices.
The Par-3 Contest Curse - No golfer who has won the pre-tournament Par-3 Contest has ever gone on to win the Masters that same year!
The Amen Corner - Holes 11, 12, and 13 at Augusta National are known as "Amen Corner," a name coined by sportswriter Herbert Warren Wind in 1958. It's often where championships are won or lost due to its challenging design and swirling winds.
